Colorado Days

We arrived at Denver after a decent night’s sleep in our sleeper on Amtrak. Have been meeting interesting people from all over, especially since the dining car staff seats parties of two together. Food is decent, company better. Another reminder of the importance of the table.

Once in Denver we found ourselves at one of the rallies going on all over the country in reaction to the separation of undocumented immigrant families. Lots of great folks at the capitol:

Kerri’s shirt and my shirt:

We also found a Buddhist temple in Denver! As you may know, Kerri and I are very drawn to Buddhism, perhaps more she than I. This was one of several reflective discoveries so far… more to come. Funny enough, there was a marijuana dispensary on the opposite corner! Chill neighborhood….

Fort Collins and the Mountains

We stayed at an excellent Air BnB in FOCO, truly wonderful hosts. Since we had rented a car in Denver we were able to travel to Boulder (crazy busy but hip) and, after getting settled in FOCO, up into the mountains. Absolutely gorgeous views, as can be seen here:

Most amazingly we found another Buddhist site, this time with a huge stupa in the middle of the mountains.

I thought that this would make a nice place for a Quaker meeting. Nice connections with Buddhism of course:
